Week 16 – Achieving Life’s Rewards
Use Your Personal Initiative
Procrastination will steal your dreams right out from under your nose. You
can train your mind to think thoughts of success, you can choose a goal,
you can start to visualize the life of your dreams but without personal initiative
none of the things you desire will ever come to fruition.
What are you doing to achieve the life of your dreams? It simply will not
materialize as you lie on your couch. What are you doing with the time that
God has given you?
There are no more damning words toward the attainment of your goal
than, “I don’t have time.” We all have exactly the same amount of time
within any given day. The question is, how are you INVESTING your
time?
We all have busy lives. We all have seemingly full days. When it comes
to the attainment of your personal goal and time, How Bad Do You Want
It? You will know the answer to that question when you evaluate how you
spent your days.
We live in a habitual manner. We wake up each day and do practically the
same thing day after day. There is a study that has shown that a
high percentage of our thoughts are the exact same thoughts that we had
yesterday.
So, if it is true that we live with such deep habits, and it is. Then it will
take one thing to move forward past the habits that do not
serve you.
Personal Initiative.
There is only one person responsible for your failures
and there is only one person responsible for your achievements. The good
news is that you get to look at that person everyday in the mirror and you
have ultimate control over what that person thinks and what that person does.
What a gift from God! I’m not saying it will be easy, it will not be. To live
the life you deserve and desire takes many things. A big one being
the personal initiative to go out and claim that life.
The life that God meant you to live is waiting for you. Are you going to claim that
life or are you going to let procrastination steal that life from you.
I heard it once said from a pastor that resided over many funerals, “It isn’t
the death of the body that is so sad, it is the death of all the dreams.”
Don’t ever let your dreams die! They compel you to live your life to the
fullest!
