Week 19 – Achieving Life’s Rewards

Live Harmoniously with Others

One of the greatest cause of failures in the attainment for success is the

inability to get along with other people.  It’s an imperative trait for you to

have to live the life you desire.

We don’t live on some island where only our own actions, feelings or

desires matter.  We live in a big beautiful society and we have the benefit

of many people around us with great ideas and gifts that can assist us

in our quest for success.  To access those ideas and gifts though you must

give more than you get and get along with people.

Napoleon Hill quotes a great businessman (one of the wealthiest of his

day) as saying that he had a five-point measuring stick when looking to

advance people to high level positions.

1)  Faculty for getting along with others

2)  Loyalty to those to whom loyalty is due

3)  Dependability under all circumstances

4)  Patience in all situations

5)  Ability to do a given job well

As you can see doing their job well was last.  Think about that for a moment

and give yourself a rating on the other four.  Where do you fall?

Your ability to inspire others opens up a world of riches for yourself in more

ways than just financial.  If you feel like you are lacking in this department there

are steps that you can take to improve.

-  Speak kindly to others and go out of your way when not expected.

-  Modify your tone to convey kindness and warmth to those you speak to.

-  Direct your conversations to the other person.  Talk “with” them about what

is most interesting to them.

-  Smile as you speak.

-  Listen!  Inspire others to speak and express their opinions and ideas.

-  Be optimistic and open.

Start each day with a decision that you will Live Harmoniously with Others

and implement the above actions to become the person that you desire to

be.  As you become that person you will attract more people to you and

before you know it you will be surrounded by successful, positive, rich

people.  Just like YOU!
