Week 22 – Achieving Life’s Rewards

Humility

What are your personal opinions of the personality trait of humility?

Does it invoke a negative reaction as one of weakness or do you view
it as a positive?

I believe humility is the cornerstone of a personality of success.  Why do
I say that?

The most successful and well-rounded individuals that I know personally have
no problem admitting their own defeat.  In fact they are able to revel in
their failures as those that taught them the most about themselves
and their business.

Along with humility comes wisdom.  It requires a great deal of wisdom
to say, “I was wrong.”

Without humility you will never be able to find what Napoleon Hill calls
the “seed of an equivalent benefit”.  Meaning, that every setback carries
something with it to help you overcome it – even rise above it.

My own personal experience with failure has brought with it some
of my greatest breakthroughs, connections and lessons.  Every step
I take brings with it 10 steps forward even if it doesn’t turn our exactly
as I had planned.

When you are in the midst of your own personal or professional setback
ask yourself, “what have I learned from this experience?”  Don’t blame
others or complain of your misfortune, simply recognize the experience
as a step in your grand plan for success.

Napoleon Hill puts it this way when referring to humility, when faced with
adversity “you are about to learn that you have as much strength in times of
failure as in times of success.  Your loss has been a great blessing if it leaves
you gifted with humility of the heart and gratitude for the riches you still
possess.  With it, you can be more successful than ever.”

With the power of humility you will have the power to invoke more and
more of the good that you desire and deserve.

This process of uncovering and discovering your true successful self
takes many things.  One of the greatest gifts that you can give to yourself
and those around you…humility.

Only you have the power to create the life of your dreams.  What’s
stopping you?
